Snap Attack!

My web site is 8 years old.

To celebrate I have made a silly game. Take snap shots of my odd creations and get points for composition and originality (i.e. the scoring system is a bit, erm, unpredictable on casual inspection).

Go play Snap Attack!

Nostalgia

A little something from my formative years. Watching this transported me back a good 17 or 18 years in a very impressive manner. The Cardiacs rock.

Stumbling across things like this should help balance out my YouTube moans; sometimes it really does come up trumps.

In other news my web site just turned seven years old. How quickly they grow. To mark the occasion I knocked together some little pairs games with images from my gallery.

Silliness

Why is my prairie dog looking so excited?

Maybe it's the fez.
Maybe it's discovering he has a face on his bum.
Maybe he's been playing some of my new games.

Yes, I'm spamming more of my work stuff!

Flingaphant

Gunk it!

Find the poo!

Talking of spam, mine has been getting almost interesting recently. Not as many attempts to increase my penis size, more attempts to get me to advertise my site in the Sunday Telegraph, press releases for online toys of little or no interest to me and an offer to sell me blunkett.co.uk.

Why on earth would I want to buy blunkett.co.uk, particularly, I assume, for some inflated price? If I was in the market for a novelty domain name at least get an up-to-date one. gordonbrown.co.uk would make much more sense. As Bob suggested a couple of days ago, Golden Brown by the Stranglers is waiting to be tweaked for something there.

Anyhow, I digress. New toys. Play, have fun!

Rubik World

One of the sites I was making lots of toys for last month has now been updated. One of the bigger pieces that I did some design and animation for is Rubik World. One of those point and click games with a couple of proper puzzles thrown in for good measure (well, it's Rubik, it needs a puzzle).

You get to fling sheep, twang tortoises and make a pretty rainbow at the end. Hints and tips can be provided if needed*; feel free to stick them in the comments.

I like to bank with one hand on my mouse On the same site there's a very silly quiz about banking made by the lovely Mr Tech with a jingle from DogHorse and a top dancing banker from Mushybees.

Apparently I like to bank with one hand on my mouse. Pffft. Filth!

* being honest, despite knowing the mind of the person who created the puzzles pretty well I still needed some hints and tips! I was never very good at Rubik's Cubes either though.

Work your proper hours!

Today is Work Your Proper Hours Day so make sure you get away on time and have a nice evening; you could always have a quick play of our 9 to 5 game.

For your own good you'd better make sure your nice evening doesn't involve saying a swear word to your mates though, or you'll be fined £80. I won't go on about the absurdity of using 'Respect' laws to control language in this way, but I hope this causes some debate on how a swear word on its own does not indicate abusive behaviour. Madness.

Work Your Proper Hours

I've made a new game; hooray!

9 to 5 asks you to help an adorable Pup to work his proper hours and if you manage it he gets to go out and have some FUN! Unfortunately if you send him home early he risks being reprimanded by his boss and leave him at work to long and he misses out on all the good stuff.

I should point out that the "I made a new game" is slight exaggeration on my part, I was helped as ever with codey stuff by Mr Tech, and the sound is provided by DogHorse who is becoming an excellent puppy impressionist.

Go and have a wee play, help Pup do the hula and make sure you work your proper hours too!

You're Gullible

I promised silly so here it is. DogHorse recorded a tribute to James Blunt, I animated a spoof version of the You're Beautiful video and added some interactive tomato splatting when I decided it needed a bit more oomph. You're Gullible (900KB Flash)

In other news our Modern Labour Minister animation was shown at the BEYONDTV video festival yesterday. I couldn't make it down due to unavoidable STUFF and Swansea not exactly being on my doorstep, but never mind; I'm hoping it went down well. It seems we were up for Best Political Animator at the MediaActivist awards, which is funky. Modern Labour Minister is also included on the Broad Horizons Compilation DVD showcasing the work of women filmmakers.
